Pear Mini Pies

Ingredientai
  • 2 c (240 g) white spelt flour
  • 2/3 c (100 g) butter or margarine
  • 1/3 c (48 ml) cold water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • sugar powder
  • 1 egg wash* or splash of milk
Filling
  • 2 pears, middle-sized
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp flour
Gaminimas
  1. Preheat oven to 180 C temp.

  2. In a big bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and butter with your fingertips until remains only small peas.

  3. Add the water and mix until forms a rough ball (don't knead it). Rest in the fridge for about 15 min.

  4. Peel, core the pears. Cut them into small cubes. In a small bowl, combine the pears, sugar, flour, and cinnamon.

  5. Roll out the dough. Use the top of a glass or circular cutter and cut out the circles. 

  6. Place half of the dough circles on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Put 1  tsp of pears into the center of each circle. Brush the sides of circles with the egg wash or milk. Cover with other circles. Cut the middle part of each pie. Using a fork, press in the edges of each pie.

  7. Brush each pie with the egg wash or milk. Bake for about 30 min.

  8. Allow them to cool and dust with sugar powder.
